Meet Summaries

The Wildcats took a select squad to the Liverpool Girls Invitational and returned with three medal winners. Shannon Morris raced to a 3rd place in the 1500 meter while the 'youth corps' gave an impressive showing with 8th grader Erin Hennigan's  3rd place finish in the Novice 800m. That race was won by Erin's classmate, Ashley Didio with a meet top-10 time. A personal record was also notched by Monica Macro in the 3000m and Kerry Banazek in her first-ever 2000 meter steeplechase overcame a 1st lap fall over the water barrier to place 8th in a fast field. Kerry's time qualified her for this year's National Championship in the steeplechase.

Meet Summaries

Excellent individual performances in several events could not offset a balanced team performance by the Baldwinsville Bees. Top sectional times by Kerry Banazek(3000m), Katie Bubnack(1500m) and Shannon Morris(400m/800m) were compromised by weaker showings of the sprints and weights squads. Caley Thompson had a solid first outing in the High Jump.

Meet Summaries

The Wildcats got on track with a good team performance against RFA. Despite the absence of several key athletes, balanced scoring Sprint, Field, Hurdle and Distance squads keyed the win in unseasonably hot weather. Katie Bubnack was a double individual winner in the 3000m and HJ events and ran a leg of the winning 4x400 Relay. Kerry Banazek won the 800m with a personal record. Personal records were also recorded by Audra Smith in the Shot Put, Monica Macro in the 1500m, Mary Conroy in the Discus and Nina DiBattista in High Jump. The 4x100 Relay ran its fastest time of the season in hitting a Sectionals qualifying time.

Meet Summaries

Soundly outmatched in the hurdles, field and weight events, the Wildcats fell to one of the top Section A teams in CNS. Traditional sound performances by the distance squad lead the team. A rapidly improving 4x100 squad of Alexis Tearney, Lauren Roosa, Kristen Abert and Vicki Trusskey dropped that seasonal PR by over a half second despite two poor hand-offs to win that event. A nice double was registered by Katie Bubnack(1500/800). And the 4x800 relay of Christina Phelan, Monica Macro, Nina DiBattista and Kerry Banazek logged the season's best in winning that event.
